Smart contract audit cost calculator

An indicative price range and duration for your audit, for independent auditors and for established firms. The model is published below.

Lines of source code without comments or blank lines, between 50 and 30,000. A tool such as cloc counts them.

Type of project
Readiness of the code

Tests, documentation and a frozen version shorten the review.

3 auditor-days

Formula

Auditor-days = nSLOC ÷ review pace × language × type of project × readiness × (1 + risk factors), with a minimum of three days. Price = auditor-days × day rate × urgency, plus the re-audit when included. The team size follows the effort, and the duration assumes five working days a week.

What the estimate does not cover

  • The exact scope: the same number of lines can hide very different logic.
  • Availability and demand, which move prices from one month to the next.
  • A quote: only vendors can commit to a price, after reading your code and your brief.
